The Orode company is an idea/dream I have had for most if not all of my life. I have worked on geodesic domes in Colorado in 1980 but had fallen in love with the design way before that. When the tsunami's hit Indonesia I started thinking that if a dome is good for hurricanes and such that a home designed as a full sphere would probably work even better and bemore resistant to more types of disasters: earthquakes, tornado's, floods than conventional home designs. The design I want to bring into reality will be a multi level sphereical home with ship like features inside and out. This is so that not only can an Orbode be situated on land but in the water as well much like a house boat. I also intend to develop my own unique building material that will incoorparate fire resistant or proof qualities. In the end I would like these structures to be: hurricane, tsunami, tornado, earthquake, flood AND fire PROOF. I do realize that to be PROOF against mother nature is a tall order, but I intend to take attributes OF Mother nature to come at least as close as I can. I am going to use bamboo as one of the main ingredent's of the building material I am currently in R&D (research & develpment) on.
